MLESAT Releases New Global Edition of its Flagship CD ROM Software Product
U.S. based electronic publisher MLESAT has released an expanded Global Edition of its SATELLITES ON DISK LIBRARY on CD-ROM disc for IBM PC compatible computer platforms. The CD-ROM disc now contains 500 full-colour satellite footprint maps, frequency plans and detailed descriptions for more than forty international and domestic satellite telecommunication systems, spacecraft illustrations, analogue and digital TV program listings for Europe, Africa and the Middle East and the Asia/Pacific regions, industry contact information and supporting charts for present and future telecom satellites. More than 100 Mbytes of information are available on the new CD ROM disc.
The SATELLITES ON DISK LIBRARY: GLOBAL EDITION 2000 allows users to access comprehensive, up-to-date technical information on geostationary communication satellites directly from a personal computer. All the information to which satellite professionals and hobbyists need access is right where they can most effectively use it: on the computer desktop at the home or office or on a laptop for those who work while on the go. Whats more, hundreds of hyperlinks allow users to quickly locate the graphic or text-based information they need at the click of a mouse button. No more sifting back and forth through hundreds of pages or searching in vain for a relevant index or table of contents entry.
The SATELLITES ON DISK software license allows purchasers to re-use the information in the LIBRARY in a variety of ways. Users can import text extracts or selected graphics into their favourite word processing and page layout programs and then re-use the information to augment in-house reports, marketing studies, customer proposals, and training materials. The only licensing restrictions are that any re-use of LIBRARY material is non-electronic, and not for sale, barter, trade or distribution in a copyrighted publication.
THE SATELLITES ON DISK LIBRARY: GLOBAL EDITION is written in the universal HTML language that can be read by any standard Internet browser. Because all the data is provided on CD-ROM, however, subscribers will use the software while off line to take advantage of the higher download speeds afforded by their own personal computers. Users do not have to learn a new software format to use the LIBRARY and the data is in a form with which Internet users are already familiar. Moreover, anyone with an HTML editing program can add their own comments to the LIBRARY pages, or customize the Library software by appending text and graphics obtained from other sources, such as the Worldwide Web.
Best of all, the LIBRARY includes a software upgrade option which will allows subscribers to download the most recent software updates from the MLESAT.COM Internet site on the Worldwide Web.
